With an attendance of more than fifty, including every member of the Rockdale Public School faculty, and some of the most civic-minded women of the city, the Rockdale Parent-Teacher Association was organized at the high school building on Friday, September 21, 1934.
In the sort course of its existence, the P.T.A. has sponsored a number of constructive features in connection with the school, including a street carnival on Halloween each year, and a school cafeteria. The cafeteria was started with the sole purpose of feeding the underprivileged children of our school.
The question of child welfare is the only one of which the entire world is united, and the Parent-Teacher Organization is the medium of co-operation between Parent and Teacher for the welfare of the child.
The Science Club of the Rockdale High School was organized by members of the General Science class, for the purpose of furthering their interests in science and things scientific beyond the scope of the class room.
The organization consists of both boys and girls who wish to carry on various activities suggested by the members themselves. Each member also endeavors to secure as many points as he can by working on certain projects and activities, for which he is duly recognized.
The club carries out various social activities, and enjoys the fellowship of each other.
