Rockdale vs Giddings
A powerful Giddings eleven took the Rockdale Tigers by surprise in a 228 win. After a slow first period the Buffs tallied and held the lead throughout the game. An alert pass interceiption by Ronnie Seelke set up the only Tiger tally: a ten yard scamper by Ronny Menn. The second half brought two more Giddings touchdowns and a hard earned victory.

Rockdale vs Elgin
The spirited Elgin Wildcats handed the Tigers its second straight defeat, 328. The Tiger defense was unable to contain Larry Larson, who personally accounted for 26 Wildcat points. The Tigers were able to penetrate inside the 20 twice but were not able to score. The Wildcats held a 200 half time lead. The Tigers fought back with an aerial attack led by Ronny Menn. A 35 yard toss to Billy Pate put the Tigers on the board. Menn also connected for the P.A.T.

The Rockdale Tigers took good advantage of their Eagle hosts and chalked up their first victory of the 1961 season, 107. After two brilliant goal line stands, the Tiger eleven scored on Ronnie Menn's 5 yard scamper. Again the Tigers drove to another tally: a 17 yard pass to end Ronnie Seelke. The Eagles finally tallied on a 64 yard run by Isaias Ahmazan. The P.A.T. was successful which left the score

Powerhouse Marlin buried Rockdale's underclassmen 380 rolling 360 yards on the ground while nailing the Tigers to a scant 18. Marlin's veteran 185 pound line ripped open the Tigers' sophomore and junior forwards with ease to allow half backs Jones and Greensage to amass more than 100 yards each. The giant Bulldog line checked the Tigers to a minus 4 yard rushing during the first half, and the Marlin forwards choked off a Rockdale threat in the second half by camping in the Tiger backfield with quarterback Ronny Menn. Menn was still able to complete 9 of 16 pass attempts for 61 yards spelling the Tiger's only offensive success

The Rockdale Tigers took a long desired and deserved victory over the Taylor Ducks, 30. The first half held no promise for either team as the ball changed owners many times. The Tigers, going in as the underdog, proved their worth as they drove within field goal distance and Ronnie Menn came through with a 30 yard field goal. This proved to be the deciding factor as Rockdale came out of the battle the victor.

The Rockdale Tigers journeyed to Bellville and were solidly surprised by the score of 267. The Tigers drew first blood on Menn's one yard scamper. This was of no value however, as the Brahmas scored 4 straight tallies. The Tigers were unable to contain Larry Wiestruck and Laery Johnson who personally accounted for all of the Brahma touchdowns. Hearne
Last quarter efforts by the Rockdale Tigers prevented a shut out, but the Hearne Eagles jolted the Blue and Gold 346 in the District opener for 19AA. Rockdale going scoreless through three periods flew back at the Eagles with a 92 yard kickoff return by halfback David McKinnon. The 145 pound Senior, sidestepping two wouldbe tacklers at the eight yard line followed his interference through the middle of the Hearne defense. The hole made by the eleven left only two Eagles to pursue McKinnon. Unable to catch him, the Tiger back made the tally with 6 minutes and 49 seconds left in the game. The conversion was stopped leaving the final score

After holding the Yoemen on the 5 yard line the Tigers took over and drove within field goal distance where Menn again put the score 100.
The Yoemen put on a good scoring drive late in the fourth quarter but the Tiger forward wall held again. The Tigers tallied again on Donnie Laurence's 5 yard sneak. The Tigers took the victory
