Funeral services for Bernadine Rinn, 92, of Rockdale were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 6, 2001, at St. Johns United Methodist Church in Rockdale with Rev. Paul Kethley of St. Johns officiating. Burial was in the Sharp Cemetery in Rockdale.
Mrs. Rinn died Sunday, June 3, 2001, in a Rockdale nursing home.
A resident of Rockdale for most of her life, she was born Nov. 12, 1908, in the Sharp community to Joe Petty and Ida Raney.
She married Louis G. Rinn on June 7, 1931, in Rockdale.
Mrs. Rinn was a retired teacher with the Rockdale Independent School District, having worked there for 42 years. She held a masters degree in teaching from Southwest Texas University and received a Writing and Reading Award for tutoring.
Mrs. Rinn was a member of St. John?s United Methodist Church of Rockdale.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis G. Rinn; her parents; three brothers, Lannis Petty, Marvin Petty and Raney Petty; a sister, Blanch Offield; and two nieces, Juanita Wheelus and Sue Simmers.
Survivors are a sister, Ida Mae Tate of Victoria; three nephews, Ray Offield, Dale Petty and Larry Tate; and three nieces, Marilyn Beams, Barbara Brown and B.J. Magee; also, eight great-nieces and nephews and three great-great-nieces and nephews.
