Clarice Jinks Kyle

Funeral Services for Clarice (Jinks) Kyle, 90, were held Sunday, March 17, 1996 at 2 P.M. at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Chapel with burial in I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Dr. Mark Cotrell of Rockdale Christian Church officiated.
Mrs. Kyle died Friday, Marh 15 at Fairview Nursing Home in Fairfield. She was a Fairfield resident since 1989, formerly of Rockdale.
She was born April 22, 1905 in the Salty community to Lula (Jackson) and Daniel Hadley Jinks. She worked as a school teacher, retiring in 1976 after 23 years teaching in a number of community schools in Lexington and Rockdale.
She married Willie Watson (Bill) Kyle on June 23, 1929 in Cameron. She was a Worthy Matron and member of Eastern Star and a member of the advisory board and Mother Advisor for the Rainbow Girls. She was also PTA president, former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and played in the kitchen band with the senior citizens.
Mrs. Kyle is preceded in death by her husband, Willie Kyle on May 23, 1986; her parents; three sisters, Nona Longyear, Addie Garner and Nell Wilson; and a brother, H. M Jinks.
She is survived by a son, Thomas W. Kyle of Rockdale and wife Chieko; a daughter, Amanda Burleson and husband Maurice of Fairfield; a brother, G. L. Jinks of Port Arthur; and one grandchild.
Pall bearers were Claude Spence, Rodney Spence, Johnny Menges, Babe Baker, Johnny Wilson and Keith Wilson. Honorary pall bearers were Henry Tyler, Milford Henry, Marvin Morris, Rene Boneau and Gene Kyle.
