Funeral services for long-time Rockdale school teacher Mrs Deliah (Miss Dee) McCoy, 84, were held at 1 P.M. Monday in the Phillips  & Luckey Chapel with burial in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Rev. Ronnie Littlejohn officiated.

Mrs. McCoy died at 8:30 A.M. Saturday in Richards Memorial Hospital after being in failing health for several months.  She had  lived most of her life in and near Rockdale.

She was born in Texas on Jan. 20, 1896 to Mr. and Mrs. Silas Cook.  She retired in 1962 after a 50-year career as a school  teacher.

She and Dave McCoy were married in 1932 near Rockdale.

Mrs. McCoy was preceded in death by her husband in 1967; also by one son, Charlton Cook (Cookie) Guthrie  in 1978.

Survivors include a daugher-in-law, Mrs. Mabrey Guthrie of Rockdale,; one grandson, Tom Guthrie of Austin; one granddaughter,  Mrs. Patricia Poland of Edgewater, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Sue Hill of Austin.

Pall bearers were Murf Farris, John D. Yoakum, Roy E. Brannon, Marvin Dieball, Bennie Grizzell and Ernest L. Cast.

Mrs. McCoy was a member of First Baptist Church and of the Rockdale chapter of Eastern Star.
