Ephraim Zeke Young
Memorial services for Ephraim Zeke Young, 74 of Rockdale are scheduled for 3:00 p.m. Sunday, November 23, 2014 in Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Lance Walch of Forest Grove Christian Church officiating and Jimmy Keen with the eulogy. Visitation is also Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In accordance to his wishes Mr. Young was cremated.

Ephraim Zeke Young passed away Thursday afternoon, November 20, 2014 in the Scott & White Hospital in Temple. Zeke was born December 29, 1939 in Rockdale and was one of two children born to Zeke Hardy and Ina Velma (Diver) Young. He was a lifelong resident of Rockdale and graduated from Rockdale High School in 1958. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Rockdale VFW Post 6525. On January 22, 1972, he and Louise Michele Morneau along with her three children were married in Coupland, Texas. To this union four children were born. Zeke was a self-employed Millwright and Welder. After his retirement, he worked for the Rockdale I.S.D. as a bus driver. He enjoyed welding, he was artistic in his welding and making items, he had raised horses, he enjoyed riding four wheelers and he loved being with his children and grandchildren.

Zeke was preceded in death by his parents. Surviving are his wife, Louise Young of Rockdale; son, Steve Young of Ft. Worth; three daughters, Jennifer Hales and husband Brad of Georgetown, Jessica Skrhak and husband Mark of Rockdale, Jodi Skrhak and husband Michael of Rockdale; Step daughters, Tina Fields of Spring, Lisa Dockall and husband Larry of Waco; step son, Johnny Schmitz and wife Ashley of Mobile, Alabama; brother, Doug Young and wife Pam of Palmer; 15 grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Velma Young
(July 14, 1917 - January 11, 2013)

Service for Velma Young will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday January 14, 2013 at the Forest Grove Christian Church near Rockdale with Rev. Lance Walch officiating. Burial will follow in the Forest Grove Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Young will be held Sunday, January 13, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.

Velma was born on July 14, 1917 in Milam County she was the daughter of Ephraim and Jessie Edna (Price) Diver.

She and Zeke Hardy Young were married on November 24, 1937 in Rockdale. She and Hardy made there home in Rockdale in 1952.

Velma was a member of the Forest Grove Christian Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed flowers, cross stitch, crochet and crafts. She was also a member of the New Salem Home Demonstration Club, The Garden Club and The Ladies Group at the church.

Velma passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013 in the Scott & White Hospital in Temple, she reached the age of 95.

She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband; Two brothers, Wesley E. Diver and Vernice N Diver; Two sisters, Jessie Rae Keen and Joy V Coulter.

She is survived by her two sons, Ephraim Zeke Young & wife Louise of Rockdale and Douglas Wayne Young & wife Pamala A of Palmer, TX. She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren and numerous Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great-Grandchildren.
