Services for Mike Jones, 54, of Lexington were held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 22, 2005, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale with Rev. Trish Holland of First Presbyterian Church in Rockdale officiating. Burial followed in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale.
Mr. Jones died Saturday, March 19, in a Temple hospital.
A resident of Lexington for the past 34 years, he was born Aug. 30, 1950 in Cameron to Charles Douglas and Roberta (Nuss) Jones.
Mr. Jones was a construction worker in the oil field industry and he enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially salt-water and bay fishing. He also enjoyed working with and training horses, cooking barbecue and collecting antiques.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris (Williams) Jones; a son, Joshua Jones; and his horse of 17 years, “Blue.”
Survivors are his parents, Charles D. and Roberta Jones of Rockdale; two brothers, Allan Jones and wife Karen of Rockdale and Brian Jones and wife Nancy of New Braunfels; a sister, Beverly Earnst and husband Don of Rockdale; and a grandson, Christian Jones; also, a host of other family members.
Pallbearers were Carl Jones, Robert Hammond, Charlie Kirchner, Stanley Ruthven, Larry Reese and Glynn Rolan.

Memorial services for Janice Marie Reed Whiteley, 51, of Katy, formerly a long-time resident of Rockdale, were held Friday, January 4, 2002 at St. Johns United Methodist Church in Rockdale with Rev Doug Springer and Rev Paul Keithley officiating. The eulogy was delivered by Kathie Bassler.
Mrs Whiteley died Sunday, December 30, 2001, in M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston after a year-long battle with cancer.
She was born January 20, 1951 to Gaston and Dorothy Reed in Meridian.
Preceding her in death was her father, Gaston Reed in 1994, and a brother, Allen Dale Reed who died at birth.
Survivors are her husband, Jerry Whiteley, of Katy; two daughters, Heather Hernandez* and son-in-law Avn* of The Colony and Hannah Whiteley of Plano; a granddaughter, Lori; a grandson, Joshua; her mother, Dorothy Reed of Canyon Lake; three brothers, Joe Reed and wife Paula of Corsicana, Larry Reed and wife Sharon of Duncanville, and Lee Reed and wife Debbie of Bryan; two sisters Sandi Micholas* and husband Barry, and JoAnn Farrell* and husband Dwayne, all of Fairfield; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Kenneth Lee Keen, 54 died Thursday, Oct. 28, 2004 at his home in Rockdale. Funeral services were held Friday, Oct. 29, at 3 p.m. at the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Pastor James Diamond of Cedar Crest Christian Church and Pastor Charles Salmon of Forest Grove Christian Church officiating. Burial followed in the Keen Cemetery.
Mr. Keen was born Jan. 3, 1950 in Rockdale to Pete A. and Edna (Parton) Keen.
Mr. Keen, a life long resident of Rockdale, worked in sales with NAPA Parts Store in Rockdale. He was a member of Forest Grove Christian Church and a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and discharged as a Sergeant. He was a 1968 graduate of Rockdale High School.
Mr. Keen is survived by daughter, Tammy Keen of Combined Locks, WI; parents, Pete and Edna Keen of Rockdale; brother, Jimmy Keen and wife Janice of Rockdale; sister, Thana Kemper and husband Otto of Brenham; nieces and nephews, Tina and Brad Bartsch, Kristi and Billy Moreland, Jennifer Keen, Jamie and Wesley Mauer, Steven Kemper; also a number of cousins and friends.
Pallbearers included Morris Kyle, Wayne Holliman, Randy Mader, Bob Tover, Steven Kemper, Waymon Keen, and Nolan Keen.

CALDWELL—The funeral service for Dwight Alvin Praesel, 59, of Caldwell was held Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2008, at Strickland Funeral Home with Rev. Todd Jordan officiating. Burial followed in Masonic Cemetery.
Mr. Praesel died Saturday, Feb. 9, at Burleson St. Joseph Health Center in Caldwell.
He was born Dec. 25, 1948 in Cameron to Henry Alvin and Opal Marie (Willard) Praesel.
He married Melanie McHenry on March 13, 1982, at First United Methodist Church in Caldwell.
Mr. Praesel enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He also was very involved in ranching and farming. Mr. Praesel was a master plumber.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Opal Praesel, and a brother, Larry. Survivors include his wife, Melanie Praesel of Caldwell; a son, Cody Praesel, of Caldwell; a daughter, Dena Praesel of Austin; his father, Henry Alvin Praesel; two brothers and sister-in-law, Craig and Catherine Praesel, and Keith Praesel, all of Rockdale; a sister and brother-in-law, Cindy and David Matthews of Rockdale; a soon to be grandchild. Pallbearers were Ron McCoy, Wayne Campise, David Burns, Ray Praesel and Justin Praesel.

Graveside services for Pam Martin Strobo, 49, were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 6, 2000 in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery near Rockdale with Melanie Welsh officiating.
Mrs. Strobo died Monday, July 3 at her home. She was a Somerville resident since June 1996, having moved from Austin.
She was born Aug. 20, 1950 in Rockdale to L.R. and Oma Lillian (Dismukes) Martin.
Mrs. Strobo worked as a manager of Data Pulse with the Texas Hospital Association for 20 years, retiring in 1996. She loved to travel all over the western U.S. with her brothers and her dog Geronimo. Mrs. Strobo also enjoyed reading and cross stitch, writing in her journal, learning about Native American culture, visiting with family over the telephone and her annual trip to Las Vegas with her cousins, and hosting the annual family barbecue each December.
Survivors include a son, Robert Strobo of Austin; a daughter, Christina Strobo of Austin; two brothers, Thomas Martin
and Derwood Martin, both of Somerville; and her mother, Oma Glaser of Cameron.

LAMPASAS - Graveside services for Geraldine Ann Doss Edwards, 55, of Bertram were held at 5 p.m. Sunday, June 26, 2005, at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
Mrs. Edwards died Friday, June 24, in the Bertram Nursing Home in Bertram after ongoing complications following a motorcycle accident April 27, 2004, that left her a paraplegic.
She was born Nov. 8, 1949 in Rockdale to Rufus and Gladys (Key) Doss.
Mrs. Edwards was a 1968 graduate of Rockdale High School. She retired in 2003 from the University of Texas after 30 years as supervisor of the Utilities Department.
Survivors include a son, Christopher Edwards and wife Jaime of Bertram; granddaughter, Cheyenne and step-granddaughter, Sierra also of Bertram; parents, Rufus and Gladys Doss of Rockdale; two sisters, Kathy McGowan, Brenda Dean of Rockdale; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

San Antonio: Funeral services for Martha Ann Kopecky Van De Walle, 36, of Lubbock, were held Saturday, Nov. 8 at St. Matthews Catholic Church in San Antonio. Burial was in San Fernando Cemetery No. 2.
Mrs Van De Walle died Tuesday, Nov. 4, in Lubbock.
She is survived by her husband, Michael; sister, Donna Westbrook of Midland; brother, Howard Kopecky of Austin; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Mrs Van De Walle was the daughter of former Rockdale resident the late Helen Kopecky Schilling.
She was a graduate of Texas Tech University and was operations director of administration with the Lubbock regional office of the Texas Rehabilitation Commission.
Angelo Funeral Home, San Antonio, was in charge of arrangements.

CAMERON - Memorial services for Dwight Lee Lester, age 55, of Cameron, were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 2, 2006 in the Kathryn W. Green Chapel of Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Chris Norton officiating.
Mr. Lester died Sunday at his residence following an extended illness. He was a driver for a vending machine business.
Mr. Lester was born Aug. 28, 1950 in Fort Worth.

Carl Allen, 22, Killed When Struck by Car
Funeral services for Carl Joseph Allen, 22, victim of a car-pedestrian accident, Monday in Bryan, were held at 2:00 PM today (Wednesday) at Phillips and Luckey Chapel with burial at the IOOF cemetery. Rev. N. A. Mills, pastor of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, officiated.
Allen was pronounced dead at the accident scene, the 600 Block of Texas Avenue in Bryan, shortly after the 8:00 AM Monday mishap. Bryan police Lt. Howard Hill said Allen walking in the curb lane on the west side of Texas Avenue. The car was driven by Doris Mae Glover, 39, of Bryan, who was traveling south.
A graduate of Rockdale High School and member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church, Allen was a senior student at Sam Houston State College, Huntsville. He was born December 3, 1949 at Marysville, Tenn, and lived in Rockdale for the past 17 years.
Son of Rockdale attorney Leonard Allen, he was preceded in death by his mother, Mrs Ella Joyce Allen, on June 23, 1971.
Survivors include the father, Leonard Allen; 2 brothers, Roy Leonard Allen Jr and Wayland Leslie Allen, both of Rockdale; grandparents Mr and Mrs D. D. White, of Rockdale; and grandmother, Mrs Ira Allen of Georgetown.
Pallbearers were Johnny Collier, Wayne Bennett, Cliff Clark, David Bennett, Robbie Roberson, and Clayton Bennett.
Mr. Caywood died Monday in St. Joseph Rehabilitation Center in Bryan. He was born in Cameron. He was a crane operator in the carbon plant for Alcoa in Rockdale for 32 years. Mr. Caywood was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Caldwell. He was a graduate of Rockdale High School in 1968. He served in the Army National Guard as a paratrooper.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Caywood of Minerva; two stepsons, James Gomez of Minerva and Alfonso Gomez of El Paso; two stepdaughters, Maria Gomez and Rosanna Oliver, both of Dripping Spring, Texas; his parents, Hubert and Wanda Caywood of Minerva; a brother, Ronnie Caywood of Rockdale; two sisters, Lisa Montague of Ward, Ark., Becky Mueller of Rockdale; and two grandchildren.

SAN MANUEL - Jon Bradley (JB) Alexander passed away on Nov. 19, 2005 at his home in San Manuel.
He was born in Bryan on Aug. 20, 1950.
He was employed by Magma Copper Company and BHP. He enjoyed scuba diving, hiking, traveling and electronics.
Mr. Alexander is survived by his wife of 25 years, Pamelo Jo Alexander; parents, James Vernon and Ruby [Fay Carter] Alexander, both of Marble Falls; two brothers, Jim and Paul Alexander, both of Texas.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Mark.
A memorial service was held Saturday, Dec. 3, 2005 at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in San Manuel.
Mr. Alexander resided in Rockdale and attended public school in Rockdale from 1956 thru 1964.
He is also survived by a son from a previous marriage and a grand-daughter living in Tucson, AZ.

KERRVILLE - Memorial services for William Thomas Billy Pearson IV, 60, of Kerrville will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at St. Peters Episcopal Church in Kerrville. A reception will follow after the service at 705 Leland Street in Kerrville.
Mr. Pearson died Sunday, Dec. 26, at his residence.
He was born July 26, 1950, in Rockdale to William Thomas Pearson, Jr. and Lilian (Astin) Pearson.
He married Lucy Sandidge on July 28, 1974.
Mr. Pearson served in the U.S. Navy and was a Vietnam veteran.
He was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in Kerrville. Mr. Pearson enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, fishing, traveling and storytelling.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, David Gordon Pearson.
Survivors include his wife, Lucy Pearson of Kerrville; daughters, Emily Melain McRae and husband Chastan, Heather Noel Stebbins and husband Michael, Jennifer Nichole Imel and husband Andrew, all of Kerrville, Michelle Lee Pearson of Texas; a sister, Evelyn Pearson of Rockdale; and his grandchildren, David Pearson, Lulu Stebbins, Jilian Stebbins, Hinley Imel, Paxton and Brody McRae, Zac Pearson, Destani Simms, Thomas Bodovsky and Dalton Simms; also, numerous nieces and nephews.

Robert Cecil McIrvin Jr. - Class of 1968

Robert Cecil McIrvin, Jr. was born January 20, 1949 in Rockdale to Lucille (Luetge) and Robert Cecil McIrvin, Sr. He was a 1968 graduate of Rockdale High School.
Cecil began working with I.G.C in 1970 and retired in 2008 as plant operator. He enjoyed deer hunting.
Cecil passed away Sunday, December 4th, in Cedar Park, reaching the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Donna L. McIrvin.
Surviving; two sons, Justin and Ryan McIrvin of Cedar Park. Three sisters, Shirley McIrvin, Delores Beran and Debbie McIrvin all of Rockdale. His former wife, Dixie McIrvin of Cedar Park. Two nephews and one niece.
Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Thursday, December 8, 2011 in the Phillips & Luckey Chapel. Burial in the Salty Cemetery near Thorndale. Rev. Lee Eschberger will officiate.
Visitation; 6PM to 8PM Wednesday, December 7th, 2011 in the funeral home.

Services for Eleanor “Red” McBride, 63, of Pflugerville, formerly of Rockdale, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, 2013, at New Hope Baptist Church in Rockdale. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. at Cook-Walden Capital Park in Pflugerville. Pastor Billy Walker of Turning Point Church in Dallas will officiate.
Ms. McBride died Saturday, Sept. 21, at her home in Pflugerville.
She was born Aug. 30, 1950, in Rockdale to Floyd Morgan and Leona Bacy Morgan.
Ms. McBride was an inventory specialist with East West Manufacturer. She had been a Pflugerville resident for the past 15 years.
Ms. McBride was a Dallas Cowboy fan, enjoyed cooking for family and friends, and was always a woman of strong faith. She loved her grandchildren like a mother and everyone called her “Granny.”
Ms. McBride was regarded as the “mother” of the Austin Striders Track Club.
She received a bachelors degree in theological studies from The Institute for Teaching God’s Word and an associates degree in key punch from El Centro in Dallas.
Ms. McBride was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings, Lottie Mae Smith, Henrietta Randle, Lucy Ray Jordan, Selvia Edward Crawford Jr. and Clarence Edward Crawford Jr.
Survivors are a son, Jermaine Walker and wife Glyn of Pflugerville; three daughters, Tammie LaGail Marion of Abilene, Sharonda Rene Walker of DeSota, Stacy Lynn Pruitt of Pf lugerville; five sisters, Amanda Reed of Lubbock, Cathy Pride and Linda Ford, both of Rockdale, Gloria Nell Majors of Dallas, Sandra McNeil of Memphis, Tennessee; two brothers, Don Miller of San Antonio, Henry Miller of Rockdale; 10 grandchildren, Tawanisia Nicole Marion, Jasmine Latrice Yezino, Ladetrick Darney Marion, Shyquinshala Walker, Shavona Xaviera Tavarez, Alexis Danae Walker, Tyasia Marie Mitchell, Xavier Anthony Lucio, Jayden Mitchal Smith and Ayden Rogers; and two great-grandchildren, Camri Serenity Jackson and Thaddeus Kyerre Brady.

Ray Teetz, 66 of Minerva passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2015 in the Richards Memorial Hospital in Rockdale. Graveside services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. Saturday, October 10, 2015 in the Minerva Cemetery in Minerva. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, October 9, 2015 in the Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale.
Ray was born September 9, 1949 in Malakoff, Texas to Thomas J. and Doris Mae (King) Teetz. They moved to Rockdale in 1952 where Ray attended school and graduated Rockdale High School in 1968. He attended Temple College for two years. On October 24, 1969, he and Linda Clay were married in Bryan. Ray was a dragline operator for 32 years until his retirement from ALCOA in 2007. He currently was a business owner with his wife owning and operating storage buildings and was a rancher. Ray loved playing golf, ranching, working in his garden and visiting with his friends and family.
Ray was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Jerry Teetz in 1965 and Neddie Walton Teetz in 1952.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Teetz of Rockdale; Son, Jeff Teetz and wife Sheryl of Rogers; Daughter, Leanna Lingan of Cameron and four grandchildren, Ricky Lingan and Madison Lingan of Cameron and Kaylynne Wilemon and Kalib Teetz of Rogers.

(Cameron) Terry Joe Balch, 66 of Burlington, died Sunday at his home. Services will be 3PM Wednesday at Marek Burns Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron, with burial to follow in Walkers Creek Cemetery. Family visitation will be today from 6-8PM at the funeral home. Mr. Balch was born in Elgin and worked in demolition. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of the Caldwell VFW and Davilla aptist Church.
