Lucille (Kyle) Towery was born on March 14, 1916 in the Forest Grove Community. She was the daughter of Jack Anthis and Birdie Mae (Henry) Kyle.
Mrs. Towery had lived in the Salty Community for many years and in 1981 moved to Thorndale, and for the past 4 1/2 years in Rockdale.
She and Mark Towery were married on May 12, 1934 in Cameron at the Courthouse. She was a 1934 Graduate of Rockdale High School, She had work as a Store Clerk at the House Jewelry Store in Taylor for 20. Mrs. Towery was a member of the Conoley Community Church, She had also served as a Sunday School Teacher at the Salty Community Church for many years. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, a lifelong member of the Town and Country Club and a founding member of the Salty Square Dance Club.
Mrs. Towery passed away on Monday, May 3, 2011 at the Manor Oaks Nursing Home in Rockdale, she reached the age of 95.
Mrs. Towery is preceded in death by her husband, Mark Towery; Parents Jack Anthis and Birdie Mae Kyle; Son, Jackie Bohn Towery; Son-in-Law, Lee Roy Caffey; Sister, Ila Odell Kyle; Brothers, Graham Gillis Kyle and Henry Welton Kyle.
She is survived by her daughters, Dana Caffey of Rockdale, Sandra Braswell & husband Bill of Austin and Molly Wilson and husband Jay of South Dakota; Daughter-in-Law, Lou Ann Towery of Thorndale; Brothers, Jack Delbert Kyle & wife Mary Charles of Huntsville, Larry Kyle & wife Buttons of Sugarland and Scotty Kyle & wife Dorothy of Huntsville; Sisters, Ila Mae Cook & husband John of Louisiana and Phyllis Marshall & husband Fred of Point Venture; She is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 22 Great-Grandchildren and 6 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 7, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the Salty Community Church and burial in the Salty Cemetery in the Salty Community near Thorndale. Visitation will be held on Friday, May 6, 2011 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral Home.
