Services for Louise Sessions, 86, were at 2 P.M. Saturday at the First Baptist Church with burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Rev. D. D. Simpson and Rev. Don Box officiated.
Mrs. Sessions died April 16 in the Manor Oaks Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
A lifetime Rockdale resident, she was born Jan. 22, 1901, in Rockdale to the late Robert Lee and Susian Kercheval Hale.
She was a retired fourth grade teacher for the Rockdale ISD. She taught for 50 years, having started during the 1921-22 school year.
She was married to Charles Boone (Doc) Sessions.
Mrs. Sessions was preceded in death by her husband on Feb. 29, 1952; three brothers, John T. Hale on Nov. 24, 1973, Will Norris Hale on Sept. 17, 1962, and Robert Lee Hale Jr.; a niece, Virginia Hale Garrett on June 17, 1984; and a nephew, John T. Hale Jr. on Nov. 29, 1954.
Mrs. Sessions is survived by a niece, Jo Ann Hale Allen of Houston, five great-nieces, Susan Garrrett Dunn of San Antonio, Nancy Garrett Worchester of San Diego, Annie Garrett Burfield of Fall Church, Virginia, Jill Hale Allen of Austin and Patti Hale Mack of Palmdale, California; and three great-nephews, Richard Garrett of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Craig Hale Allen of Dallas and Glenn Hale of Des Moines, Iowa.
Pallbearers were Jim Crow, Bill Cooke, John Hogan, Rush Selden, Kevin Selden, Morris Cook, Thomas Voskamp, Donnie Lawrence, Paul Backhaus, Marshall Dunn, Craig Allen, Chris Hudgis and John Franklin.
Honorary pallbearers were Louis Rinn, Sam Peeples, Red Hogan, Mike Allen, Holmes Semken, Brice Crow, Eldon Ball, Emory Camp, Demp Weems, Wilhelm Backhaus, W. T. Pearson, Ted Randall, Brooks Parker, Tommy Coffield, Bob Thompson, Jim Moore, Sug Camp, Frank Anderson, Lynwood Mehaffey, Charles Caffey, Carroll Glaser, Fritz Koch, Jim Lanning, Jim Moorman, T. A. Weens, Dr. J. T. Richards, Dr. John Crow, George Bredt, Travis Conoley and Clay Kellar.
Mrs. Sessions was a member of the Matinee Music Club.
