Clarence Wayne Diver, 70, of Rockdale, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Platt and Pastor Lance Walch officiating. Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, December 8, 2017 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.

Clarence was born May 25, 1947 in Rockdale, Texas to Clarence and Nellie Myrle (Tucker) Diver. He married Peggy Lucille Bowers on June 10, 1967 in the Caldwell Methodist Church. Besides Rockdale, Clarence also lived in Austin, Thrall and San Gabriel. He worked as an office manager for Mine Services and had also worked as an office manager for Wilson Lincoln Mercury in Taylor. Clarence attended Forest Grove Christian Church and enjoyed playing dominos, gardening, watching westerns and listening to Rockdale football on the radio.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Diver; and his parents, Clarence and Nellie Myrle Diver.

Clarence is survived by his sons, David Diver of Cedar Park, Texas and Eugene Diver of Victoria, Texas; daughter, Whitney Diver of Rockdale, Texas; brother, Charles Diver of Rockdale, Texas; sisters, Janice Rogers of Rockdale, Texas, and Helen Rogers of Caldwell, Texas; and 11 grandchildren.

Funeral services for Peggy Diver, 67 of Rockdale are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home in Rockdale. Burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Rockdale. Pastor Jim Platt and Pastor Lance Walch of Forest Grove Christian Church will officiate. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Saturday, August 9th at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home.

Peggy was born November 14, 1946 in Temple, the first of two daughters born to James Robert "Bobby" and Inez (Jones) Bowers. She was raised in Caldwell and graduated from Caldwell High School. On June 10, 1967 she married Clarence Wayne Diver in the Methodist Church in Caldwell. They lived in Austin, Thrall, San Gabriel and then settled in Rockdale where they have lived for a number of years. Peggy attended Forest Grove Christian Church. She was a homemaker and had also worked in the Governor's office for Governor John Connally, worked in Taylor for Kerr-Ban and at the Mary Lee Village near Rockdale until 1993. She enjoyed photography, reading, sports especially football, flowers, shopping and being with her family.

Peggy fought her battle with cancer, until the early morning hours on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 in the Cameron Nursing Home in Cameron. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby and Inez Bowers; father and mother-in-law, Clarence and Myrtle Diver; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ann Dunnam; nephews, Jason E. Valk and Cory Rogers.

Surviving are her husband Wayne Diver of Rockdale; Two sons, David Diver of Cedar Park and Eugene Diver of Victoria; Daughter, Whitney Diver of Rockdale; Her sister, Bobbie Claypoole of Bryan and nine grandchildren.
